Prof. Arpan Kar is full Professor in Information Systems in Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India. Inside IIT Delhi, administratively he chairs multiple committees across DMS, Bharti and ScAI along with being a member of central academic policy team. He also supports multiple ministries and other universities in different advisory roles and staff selection committees. He works on the design, adoption, appropriation, user experience and impacts of emerging ICTs, often using computationally intensive machine learning methods. He has authored over 250 publications and edited 14 indexed books. Over 100 publications are in ABDC A / ABS 3 journals, and many are ABDC A* publications. His research has been cited over 35,000 times, with an H index of 75. He is the Editor of Analytics Section of Applied Operations and Analytics, published by Taylor and Francis. He is also Associate Editor for 3 ABDC A ranked journals like CAIS, JCIS and GJFSM. He has held roles like Editor in Chief, Senior Editor, Associate Editor, Guest Editor, in multiple reputed journals like IJIM Data Insights, IJIM, DSS, JAIS, IMM, ISF, TFSC, etc in the past. He has undertaken over 25 sponsored research and 30 training projects with revenue generated exceeding 50 crores. In total, he has recieved over 20 awards including best paper awards from globally reputed organizations like International Federation for Information Processing, Association for Computing Machinery, BK Birla Foundation, Tata Consultancy Services, Elsevier, IIT Delhi, IIM Rohtak, Springer Nature, Clarivate Web of Science, Career 360, Association for Information Systems, etc.
