Jagbir Singh is the Chief Technology Officer at Vodafone Idea Limited, where he is responsible for Technology – Network, IT and Digital. Currently he is focused on AI / Digital / Strategy for Vi to drive productivity, innovations and operations in addition to other jobs as CTO.

Jagbir is a veteran in India telecom journey and has over 37 years of experience in providing Technology Leadership and strategic vision to major Telcos in India & globally. Before joining ViTM, Jagbir was working as the Group Chief Technology Information Officer at Smartfren Telecom, Indonesia, responsible for Network, IT /digital platforms and enterprise business.

Prior to this, he worked as the Group CTO at Reliance Jio and played a pivotal role in launching 4G services across India.

Earlier, Jagbir worked with Airtel as Group CTO for more than a decade, where he lead wireless, wireline and Enterprise Technology and Network.

Before joining Airtel Jagbir was with Lucent technologies where he was responsible for all Technology and solutions for all products portfolio for India market.

Post Lucent, Jagbir then moved on to APAC role in Nortel as Director, responsible for Network solutions. He started his professional career Scientist-R&D at DRDO.

He is a Seasoned Professional in Telecom networks and technologies, Strategic Thinker and a Team Builder with in-depth knowledge & experience in managing Network, Digital and IT Systems Life cycle of Planning, Engineering, Deployment and Operations in both B2C and B2B segments.

He has a master degree in electronics with MBA. He has been a member of GSMA’s executive management council, founding member of the Global TD-LTE Initiative (GTI) steering committee. He has attended various leadership / management programs from Harvard University, Wharton University, INSEAD Business School and ISB Hyderabad. Jagbir also been on the board of few telecom companies.
