Ashwin is a co-founder and Partner at the Bharat Innovation Fund, an early-stage venture capital fund which invests in pre-series A to Series A rounds of world class deeptech startups originating out of India. The fund was an early investor in the AI space with investments starting in 2018 Prior to this, he was instrumental in setting up and running India’s first deeptech focussed fund, the India Innovation Fund, whose portfolio was bought out by a global secondaries fund, TR Capital. He has invested in multiple successful B2B start-ups through these funds including Sedemac Mechatronics. He currently also serves on the investment committees of multiple grant and soft loan programs set up by BIRAC, and is also a member of the Investment Committee at the incubation cell at IIT Kanpur
