Ankit Bose leads the AI vertical at Nasscom with a clear conviction that ‘AI must scale with trust, not hype’. He works at the intersection of policy, innovation, startups, research, and enterprise adoption, thereby helping organizations move from pilots to production-grade AI that businesses can run and engineers can implement. His mission is to turn India’s diversity and scale into a global advantage, shaping the ‘Safe, Trusted, and Scalable AI’ and unlocking a $500B opportunity through execution.

As head of Nasscom AI, Ankit architects ecosystem programs like the Nasscom GenAI Foundry to connect deep-tech startups with enterprise demand, leads the Nasscom Responsible AI practices around safety and accountability, and guides CXOs through adoption frameworks and maturity benchmarks.

With experience spanning across multiple domains like engineering, consulting, strategy, and operations across the America, Europe, MEA, and APAC, he translates code-level realities into boardroom decisions and back into action.

A ‘techno-futurist’ at heart, he believes technology’s real success is measured by meaningful impact.

Off work, he recharges through fitness, yoga, and a fascination towards new gadgets.
“Dr. Arvind Gupta is a nationally recognised digital policy leader and technologist with nearly three decades of experience spanning technology, public policy, governance, and venture capital oversight.
He is the Head and Co-founder of the Digital India Foundation, a policy think tank working at the intersection of technology policy, digital public infrastructure, and responsible AI, and has played a pivotal role in shaping India’s digital transformation agenda. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, and Ashoka University.
Dr. Arvind Gupta has recently been appointed as a Trustee on the Board of National Pension Trust of India. He was the member of the Investment Committee of the National Fund of Funds Scheme, nominated by the DPIIT, Government of India, and managed by SIDBI. He also serves on the Advisory Council of the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) and is a Non-Executive Board Member at Acuite Ratings and Research Limited. Previously, he was the Chief Executive Officer of MyGov.in, the Government of India’s flagship platform for participatory digital governance.
His professional experience spans consumer internet, digital media, payment systems, analytics, enterprise software, and the data economy, across both policy and entrepreneurial contexts in India and Silicon Valley. He has served on the boards of organisations including Larsen & Toubro, the State Trading Corporation of India, and The Digital India Corporation. His work has received global recognition, including membership in the World Economic Forum’s Global Futures Council on Digital Economy and Society, and selection as an OECD expert on Global Value Chains.
He also serves on the advisory boards of the ICRIER–Prosus Centre for Internet and Digital Economy, is a Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and an Expert Member at the INSA Centre for Science and Technology Policy. He is a founding member of iSPIRT and has co-founded startups such as e-enable, amplify.ai, and apnaPay, among others.
Dr. Gupta has published extensively on the digital economy and governance in leading national newspapers, as well as platforms such as the Harvard Business Review and the World Economic Forum.
Dr. Gupta is a recipient of theEisenhower Global Fellowship for Innovation, the Distinguished Centenary Alumni Award from IIT-BHU, and the Distinguished Alumni Award from Banaras Hindu University. He was awarded the “Ecosystem Enabler of the Year” by the IVCA in 2024.
He holds an undergraduate degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from IIT-BHU, a Master’s in Computer Science and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA, and anEFPM (DBA) from the Indian School of Business. His doctoral research examined trust-based ecosystems in Digital Public Infrastructure, with India’s UPI as a case study.
